Reading Tutoring

Reading Tutoring for children with Dyslexia

  • One-on-one Tutoring: Allows for maximum individualized attention. Lessons focus on phonics, phonemic awareness, decoding, encoding, vocabulary, handwriting, punctuation, comprehension, and fluency. Lessons are 45 minutes to 1 hour in duration, with a minimum of 3-4 lessons required per week.
  • Small-Group Tutoring: Requires a minimum of two students with a maximum of three.  Students are grouped first by skill level, then by age.  Focus is the same as in one-on-one lessons with duration extended to 1.5 hours to allow for adequate individual work. A minimum of 3-4 lessons required per week.
  • Minimal homework may be assigned.  Parental involvement is welcomed but not required.
